Why this compliment? Not because I am a charismatic speaker, but because I give people information that is new and useful to them.
The adventure of meeting special persons in the audience, of knowing that every day will bring surprises, of knowing that there are reasons for the ways our paths cross - all these help make life meaningful.
In close to 1,000 real estate seminars that I presented over the years, I invariably told the agents that I was midway between the agent and the structural engineer. I could take technical information and make it understandable to laypeople.
This continues to be my approach. Even in the electromagnetic field seminars, members of the audience leave with a basic understanding of how to wire and ground a healthy house and the significance of wiring errors and grounding practices.
In addition, because I believe the essence of teaching is listening, I am privileged to learn from every audience I interact with.
