EMF (electromagnetic field) inspections are a necessity, not a luxury, for those who want to be proactive about their health.

With the cancer rate projected to rise to one in two by 2010, we must do what we can to make our environments as healthy as we can.

Electromagnetic field inspections are state-of-the-art, pioneering assessments at Enviro Health Environmental Home Inspections, Inc. We have learned much about human sensitivity to EMFs both from specialized training and from in-depth work at the homes of radiation sensitive clients.

Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Evaluation

Known biologically active EMF variables are evaluated, and recommendations are made for reduction. These variables include AC and DC magnetic and electric fields, RF/MW (radio frequency/microwave radiation), ionizing radiation, pulsed signals, grounding and wiring issues, etc. Special attention is shown to sleeping areas. Associated topics include microwave ovens, cellular phones, lighting concerns, and computers.

Includes:

bulletMagnetic field survey
bulletMicrowave oven check
bulletMeasurement of high frequency radiation
bulletEvaluation of telephones and computer work area
bulletMeasurement of electric fields at sleeping areas
bulletEvaluation of children's play areas
bulletEvaluation of magnetization of bed springs
bulletMeasurement of reading light and fluorescent lighting
bulletPower lines and grounding issues
bulletEvaluation of areas of elevated radiation
bulletMeasurement of selected electric appliances

Pre-purchase or Pre-rental Inspections

"I didn't know this service was available. Everyone should have this done when buying a house," said one of our clients. Another man, learning of the service, commented, "I wouldn't buy a house without it. This is just common sense." (My comment: Would there were trained inspectors in all areas!)

The main investigations at a pre-purchase inspection are EMFs (especially radiation from power lines, because these rarely can be changed after you are in a house), screening for stray voltage in the yard and on the electrical grounding system, risk assessment for mold (including on-site screening with a microscope), check for gas leaks, check for lead solder in the water pipes, and possibly screening for lead.

Includes:

bulletMagnetic field survey, power lines, perimeter of house and property, inside house
bulletMeasurement of current on water service supply pipe and recommendations for correction if needed
bulletOn-site surface sampling for mold
bulletAir sampling for mold
bulletCheck for natural gas leaks and carbon monoxide
bullet(optional) Screening for lead paint and lead solder

To schedule the Enviro Health residential EMF or pre-purchase inspection, e-mail us at envirohomeinfo@mindspring.com or call 888-735-9649 or 717-583-4155 (voice mail).

These electromagnetic radiation inspections (EMR inspections) are available in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, with referral in other areas if available. Occasional cross-country inspection tours are planned, so please e-mail for notification.
